Research in the Lu group involves various aspects of organic, organometallic, main-group, supramolecular, and materials chemistry. We aim to design and synthesize new main-group element-based compounds (with a particular interest in boron) that may have potential applications in organic synthesis, small molecular activation, catalysis, host-guest chemistry, and optoelectronic devices. We solve complicated problems, understand reaction mechanisms, and design new molecules through a combination of computation chemistry and experimental results.
